Pattern #3: Simply socks for larger or swollen feet and ankles
Price: £3.50
Purchase digital download

Many people suffer from swollen ankles and feet due to medical conditions and after surgery. Commercially available socks often have small cuffs that become tight when the ankles swell and can cut into the skin. Equally, commercially available socks are usually rather narrow in the foot, and don't allow for a wider, flatter foot or for high insteps. This pattern aims to address these common issues, while at the same time, giving you a pretty pair of socks with some interesting detail. There are also instructions for a plain pair of socks, suitable for a man or a woman.

The pattern requires approximately 300 m of 4 ply / fingering yarn to complete one pair of socks, plus double point needles. To fit UK women shoe size: 7-8 (and up to 8E wide).

Pattern #4: "Wandering Home"
Cowl, hooded cowl, scarf, mittens and flip-top mittens knitting pattern
Price: £4.50
Purchase digital download

Cobblestone streets with small independent shops on either side; this pattern reminds me of wandering home and window shopping on a cold and frosty evening after work. Using aran (worsted) weight yarn, these mittens and cowls can be created in just a few hours. The scarf or cowl pattern is suitable for a beginner knitter as no shaping is involved. The mittens include a small amount of simple shaping for the thumb gusset. All instructions are written with English knitting terms and metric measurements. Use wool, acrylic, or blended yarns that include alpaca, bamboo, camel, or soft merino for super snuggly and warm clothing with an attractive design. These also make ideal gifts for winter birthdays and Christmas, for any of your relatives.

Materials:
Between 200m - 600m / 100g - 300g Aran weight yarn
4mm / 4.5mm DPNs or circular needles

Size: Adult

Pattern #5: "Mercia" tea cosy
Price: £3
Purchase digital download

There is always time for tea!
Knitting pattern to make 2 sizes of tea cosy: standard 3-cup teapot is 14cm high from top of lid to base, approx 46cm circumference at widest part; small 1-cup teapot is 11cm high from top of lid to base, approx 34cm circumference at widest part.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter (or a novice who wants to learn how to increase following the instructions, and work the picot ridges). Choose a washable yarn, particularly if you opt for a pale colour, as tea cosies generally get dribbles of tea on them. Acrylic blends are suitable as they also have a bit of stretch to the finished fabric; cotton yarns will look nice but wont stretch.

Materials:
Approx 50g DK yarn
4mm DPN and 4mm traditional knitting needles
